HEMIFACIAL MICROSOMIA BIRTH TO MATURITY TREATMENT PROTOCOL
Birth to 1 year old
| Professor David | Initial consultation and pre surgical work up for repair of cleft lip and palate |
| Speech Pathologist | Feeding Advice as soon as possible after birth |
| Audiologist | Assess hearing |
| ENT Surgeon | Initial consultation and assessment |
Between 2 and 5 years
| Professor David | Yearly review |
| Speech Pathologist | Speech assessment and therapy commences as required |
Between 5 and 13 years
| Professor David | Yearly review and surgical workup for orbital surgery |
| Orthodontist | Pre surgical orthodontic treatment Harvold type of orthodontic activation where necessary |
Between 14 and 16 years
| Professor David | Yearly review and pre surgical workup for centralising skeletal surgery |
| Orthodontist | Post surgical orthodontics |
16 years onwards
| Professor David | Ear reconstruction/canal/pinna and final revisions of surgery if required |
